BERKLEEMUSIC UK ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME OFFICIAL PROGRAMME RULES
The Berkleemusic UK online scholarship programme (the "Programme") is sponsored by Berklee College of Music, Inc. ("Berklee"), 855 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02215, USA.
Eligibility
The Programme is open to registrants of www.berkleemusic.co.uk who are 18 years or older and permanently reside in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Employees of Berklee Media, Berklee College of Music, its affiliated companies, its marketing agencies, affiliates, representatives, and members of those employees' immediate families are not eligible. The Programme is void where prohibited by law.
Prizes
A total of 10 online scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis for five years. The approximate value of all prizes is £45,000. The recipient of each online scholarship will be awarded one free online course from Berkleemusic. No substitution, transfer or assignment of an online scholarship is allowed, except at Berklee's sole discretion, in which case a scholarship of comparable value will be awarded.
How to Enter
No purchase is necessary. Applicants must register on www.berkleemusic.co.uk, and follow all directions posted on www.berkleemusic.co.uk/scholarship regarding the application Material Submission Rules, and Guidelines. All materials must be submitted as either an MP3, a PDF, a Word doc, or a link to a YouTube video. Applications must be received by deadline specified on the online scholarship web page. Limit one application per person, per term. All completed applications will be considered. Berklee Media will not notify entrants if their application is incomplete. Scholarship winners may not apply for subsequent awards.
Judging Criteria
The online scholarship contest will be judged by a panel of select faculty and administrators from Berklee College of Music. The results of their decision shall be final and binding. Applicants will be judged on their involvement in pursuing a meaningful career in music and who demonstrates a desire, commitment, and potential to rise to the challenges involved, and as further described in the application form.
Notification of Winners
Winners will be notified by e-mail within approximately 30 days of the conclusion of the online scholarship selection process. All online scholarship awards, unless otherwise specified, must be accepted within 30 days of notice. Berklee will use reasonable efforts to contact winners, but Berklee is under no obligation to make repeated efforts at contacting a winner. All unclaimed online scholarship awards will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected.
Conditions
The Programme is subject to these complete Official Rules. By participating, entrants agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Berklee and judges, which shall be final and binding, and (b) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Programme or these Official Rules.
Any entries that are determined by the judges, in their sole discretion, to be offensive or defamatory will be disqualified. In addition, Berklee reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that Berklee believes is tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Programme, or violating these Official Rules. All entries become the property of Berklee and will not be returned. Each entrant grants to Berklee the right to copy, edit, publish, promote, broadcast, and otherwise use, in whole or in part, their entries, copyrighted or copyrightable materials, in any manner without further permission, notice, or compensation. Each entrant grants Berklee permission to use his/her name and likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation (except where prohibited by law). Entries are void and will be disqualified if they are, in whole or in part, illegible, incomplete, damaged, or do not comply with these Official Rules. Berklee is not responsible for technical failures in entry transmission, or lost, late, misdirected, incomplete applications. Berklee reserves the right to cancel the online scholarship awards if it becomes technically corrupted.
By entering each entrant releases Berklee Media, Berkleemusic.com, and Berklee College of Music, Inc. and their respective administrators, directors, trustees, employees, officers, agents, divisions, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability, loss, harm, damages, costs, or expenses, including without limitation, property damages, personal injury and/or death, arising out of or in connection with the awarding, receipt, and/or use or misuse of the Programme, scholarship, or participation in any scholarship-related activities, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, merchandise delivery, or the violation of any intellectual property rights.. Berklee Media, Berklee College of Music, Inc., its agencies, affiliates, sponsors or representatives absolve themselves of any liability, financial or otherwise, resulting from the online scholarship programme conducted by Berklee.
Applicants acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements.

For a list of online scholarship recipients, send a self addressed stamped envelope to Online Scholarships, Berklee Media, 1140 Boylston Street, MS899, Boston, MA 02215. Requests must be received by 1 October, 2010.
