And the Winner is... Sasha Szlafarski

Sasha, a 20-year-old composer from Canada, is currently working toward his Berkleemusic Master Certificate in Orchestration for Film and TV. His excellent video entry, "Coloring the World With Sound," chronicles his earliest childhood memories through his recent adventures abroad, touring Asia for two years.

Sasha writes: "I tried my best to capture every single aspect of music that has influenced the way I approach writing music for visual accompaniment, drawing from all of my musical and emotional—and quite often the two together—experiences." Congrats, Sasha!

What We're Looking For

We're looking for video submissions from students illustrating whatever it is that they are fantastic at (music related, of course). Videos can be performance based if you are a performer, interview style if you are a student of music business, video of you in the studio if you are a music producer, animated video if this is the best way to illustrate your music chops - which ever way you think is the best way to showcase your skills. This contest is open to Berkleemusic students only, by the way.

How the Contest is Judged

Starting on November 8th, we'll open up voting to the Berkleemusic (and external) community. Open voting will remain in place until December 1st. By December 7th, the top 5 entries with the most votes will be reviewed by our Dean of Continuing Education and a select group of Berkleemusic faculty.

This group will select the winning entry.
