During his 12-year tenure at the Boston Globe, as a staff music critic and assistant arts editor, James Reed covered everything from indie rock, Latin pop, and Top 40 to hip-hop, country, and RandB. His interviews ranged from artists both legendary (David Lynch, Al Green, Loretta Lynn, Joan Baez) to well on their way (Adele, Arcade Fire, Katy Perry, Janelle Monáe). In addition to frequent features on food and travel, Reed now contributes to Rolling Stone Country and has written numerous artist bios. He lives in Jamaica Plain, Mass., amid far too many vinyl albums.
