Gain a comprehensive understanding of a wide variety of modes, and learn to use them effectively to both simplify your note choices while expanding your creative palette.

Theory and practice exercises will help you to learn:

  • The essentials of chord-scale theory
  • The relationship between chords, keys, and modes/scales
  • How to match modes to harmonic regions
  • How to articulate expressive, organic-sounding solo lines

"A clear articulation of Berklee piano technique requirements with practical applications in developing a basic foundation in the jazz vocabulary. Great substitute for Hanon!"

Stephany Tiernan, Chair of the Piano Department, Berklee College of Music
