Okay now ladies, let’s get in formation for Beyoncé’s new Formation Scholars Award

Beyoncé has always celebrated girls who run the world. And now with her new Formation Scholars Award through Berklee, she is helping to empower young female musicians to make their own music that is bold, creative, conscious, and confident.

The Formation Scholars Award is a one-time $25,000 scholarship available to a qualified female student for the 2017-2018 academic year, and is available to women who are studying with Berklee Online as well as studying at Berklee’s campus in Valencia, Spain, and the Boston campuses of Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter announced the scholarship at the end of April, to coincide with the one-year anniversary of her GRAMMY-winning Lemonade album. Applicants have until May 15 to submit application material, which includes an essay stating how Lemonade inspired their educational goals.

The full details on the scholarship can be found here.

Pat Healy is an Editor and Writer for Berklee Online. Prior to Berklee, he was the Music Editor for Metro Newspapers. In addition to Berklee, he currently freelances for Pitchfork and several other music sites.
