An Overview of Course Notifications From BOCCE

Updated on January 11th, 2024

There are a variety of email notifications students receive when they are enrolled in a Berklee Online course. Students will receive notifications via email for the following events in a course:

  • Live Classes scheduled
  • Live Class updated
  • Live Class started
  • Private Message received
  • Instructor Announcements
  • Submission comments/grades
  • Conversation comments (for Conversations started by the student)

In addition, students have the option to subscribe to Discussions and Conversations to receive email notifications whenever there is a reply in the Discussion or Conversation. To do this, students can navigate to the Discussion/Conversation they want to subscribe to, then click the Not Subscribed button at the top right of the main post. Once clicked, the button will change to Subscribed, and email notifications will be received whenever a reply is submitted. To unsubscribe from a Conversation/Discussion, students can click the same button, which will now say Subscribed. It is also worth noting that students are subscribed to conversations they start by default.

One final point to note in regards to email notifications is that students should not directly reply to notifications sent to their email. These emails will not be delivered, and if one wishes to reply to a notification emailed to them, they should do so from within BOCCE.
