How to Install/Update Zoom

To install Zoom for the first time, you can take the following steps:

Desktop

  1. In your browser, access the Zoom Download Center.
  2. Under Zoom Desktop Client, click the Download button; the Zoom Desktop Client installer will automatically begin downloading. Note that if you are using an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2), you will need to click the Apple Silicon-specific link below the Download button.
  3. Once the download has finished, double-click the installer to begin installation.
  4. Follow the steps provided in the installer to complete installation.
 

Mobile

  1. Open the App Store for your mobile device.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap Search.
  3. Enter Zoom in the search box.
  4. Once your search results appear, tap Zoom - One Platform to Connect.
  5. Tap the GET button.
  6. Zoom will start to download on your device.
  7. After you finish downloading the Zoom mobile app, you can access and begin to use Zoom by tapping the Zoom mobile app icon on your Home screen.
 

To update Zoom, you can take the following steps:

Desktop

  1. Open Zoom on your computer.
  2. Sign into your Zoom account.
  3. Click your profile picture, then click Check for Updates.
  4. If there is a newer version available, Zoom will alert you and ask if you'd like to install it.

Note

You do not need to have a Zoom account to update Zoom. If you want to update without signing in/creating an account, you can do so on Mac by clicking zoom.us at the top left of the screen, then clicking Check for Updates. On Windows, follow the instructions in the installation section above to download and install the most recent version of Zoom.

 
 
 

Mobile

  1. Open the App Store for your mobile device.

  3. Enter Zoom in the search box.
  4. Once your search results appear, tap Zoom - One Platform to Connect.
  5. Tap the UPDATE button.
  6. Zoom will then download and install the update on your device.
