More About Julia Michels

Julia Michels is a Grammy Award-winning music supervisor at Format Entertainment. Her films have garnered both critical acclaim and over $2 billion in worldwide ticket sales. After leadership roles at Capitol Records, Twentieth Century Fox, EMI, and MGM, she built a successful career as an independent music supervisor. She won a Grammy in 2020 for A Star Is Born and has received numerous honors from the Guild of Music Supervisors and the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Her credits also include both Devil Wears Prada films, as well as the movies in the Pitch Perfect and Sex and the City franchises, The Greatest Showman, Trolls, and many more.

Jonathan Wyner has mastered and produced thousands of recordings over the last 35 years for artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Nirvana, and David Bowie. Watch him talk about working with the latter two below!

Wyner is also a professor of music production and engineering at Berklee and head of artistic technology initiatives for BEATL, Berklee’s artist-first innovation lab for music technology. He is the chief engineer at M Works Studios as well. Throughout his career, he has worked with artists both well-known and obscure, also including James Taylor, Aerosmith, Kiri Te Kanawa, Richard Stoltzman, Aimee Mann, Juliana Hatfield, Tiny Tim, Snakefinger, John Cage, and Rahsaan Roland Kirk. He combines a focus on production, engineering, and education with experience as a product design consultant.
