How do I take a course online and how long is each course?

Each course is 12 weeks long and each week of a course requires 10-12 hours of time commitment per week. More or less time may be required depending on the student’s level of experience. Each week, your instructor will post a new lesson. Once you log in, you may be doing a number of things:

  • Watching video clips and listening to audio clips
  • Reading through the course material
  • Taking interactive quizzes
  • Responding to weekly discussion topics
  • Submitting a weekly homework assignment(s)
  • Participating in a one-hour live class with your instructor and classmates. This is scheduled by the instructor based on their personal availability. Days/times for the live class will be announced by the instructor during the first few days of the semester.

All of this is done on your own time, keeping in mind deadlines for discussion posts and homework assignments. The live class is recorded, so if you are unable to make the scheduled class time, you can just watch the recording at your convenience. You may also privately message your instructor at any time with questions.
