BerkleeICE, or the Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship, recently released a report titled “Transparency and Money Flows” detailing the lack of transparency in the music business. Highlighting issues that songwriters and performers face, the report also gives suggestions for fixing these industry-wide problems.
The report is gaining traction quickly across the industry, being featured on NPR Music, Bloomberg, Billboard, and The Guardian. It was spearheaded by Berklee associate professor Allen Bargfrede. Allen currently teaches Copyright Law for Berklee Online. BerkleeICE was founded by another Berklee Online instructor, Panos Panay, who currently teaches Creative Entrepreneurship.
