Berklee Online Named a Top US Online School in Newsweek and Statista’s Rankings for the Second Consecutive Year

Berklee Online is a chart-topping college! When it comes to online education, Berklee Online reached the No. 15 spot on Newsweek and Statista’s 2026 list of America’s Top Online Schools, and among 250 institutions, Berklee Online stands out as the only college dedicated exclusively to the field of music.

“This incredible recognition by Newsweek and Statista is a true testament to the passion, creativity, and dedication of our staff and instructors in delivering exceptional music education online,” says Debbie Cavalier, CEO and cofounder of Berklee Online. “We are deeply honored to stand among the top institutions shaping the future of online learning and inspiring lifelong learners worldwide.”

Berklee Online’s ranking is based on a survey that Statista conducted between June 6 and June 30, 2025. The survey involved more than 10,000 US residents who have taken online courses to earn a degree, or for professional or personal development. Respondents shared their experiences by rating the institutions on a criteria of organization, support, price, reputation, success, and practical relevance. Finally, they rated their institution by satisfaction and their overall recommendation. Statista’s methodologies can be viewed here.

“We hope this ranking helps learners find the best fit for their schedules as they broaden their minds,” says Jennifer H. Cunningham, editor in chief of Newsweek, in the announcement.

Berklee Online has a wide range of offerings, including bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, certificates, individual courses, and masterclasses, all designed to equip students of all ages with the skills and knowledge to pursue a life in music.
