As promised, I’ve finally put together a comprehensive video about using Propellerhead’s ReCycle software and how to create your own REX loops. ReCycle continues to be a wonderful tool for slicing and dicing loops. Yes, it’s true, you can now author REX loops in Reason (starting with Reason 8) but if you don’t use Reason (and even if you do), ReCycle is still an incredibly useful tool. In fact, ReCycle gives you more options for producing REX loops, and so ultimately better sounding REX loops, than Reason alone. For this reason (no pun intended) I often prefer to use ReCycle for authoring my REX loops. ReCycle really is a music production classic program.
