Active Duty Military Tuition Discount

Berklee Online offers a tuition reduction to all military students. This includes active duty military students as well as veterans.

For active duty students who use tuition assistance, the reduction will be applied once an approved tuition assistance voucher is received. The tuition discount is not retroactive. For information on applying for tuition assistance, select your branch below.

Army

Most active duty soldiers are authorized to participate in the Tuition Assistance program through the GoArmyEd portal. For more information on applying for tuition assistance, please visit GoArmyEd. Note that students must choose Berklee College of Music when completing their request for tuition assistance.

Tuition assistance through the Army is only available to those students pursuing a degree or certificate program. The Army may require you to provide a Cost Verification Sheet as well as a Student Agreement/Education Plan. To obtain these documents, email registrar@online.berklee.edu. This documentation may take time to draft, so please allow adequate time for processing.

After receiving approval for tuition assistance, follow the steps in your chosen program:
  1. Enroll in a Certificate Program. Enroll in your chosen certificate program by clicking the "Enroll" button on the respective certificate program description page. Complete enrollment by paying the registration and technology fee. If you are already enrolled in the program, be sure your schedule reflects which courses you wish to take in the upcoming term.
  2. Submit Your Approved Voucher. All forms can be sent via fax to 617-747-2149 (Attn: Finance), via email to finance@online.berklee.edu, or via mail to the following address:

  3. Receive Verification of Paperwork. The amount the Army is paying will be applied to the tuition due as well as the military discount. An email will be sent to you once both have been applied and will include the amount of remaining balance due. You will be responsible for any approved amount that is not paid by the Army.

Air Force

Air Force students must apply for Tuition Assistance online using the Air Force Virtual Education Center. This must be done through the Air Force Portal. Note that students must choose Berklee College of Music when completing their request for tuition assistance.

The Air Force may require you to provide them with a Vocational Coursework Plan. If you are using the Air Force form, please complete all applicable areas and either fax it to the Assistant Continuing Education Registrar at 617-747-2149 or email it to registrar@online.berklee.edu. If you do not have the form from the Air Force, the Assistant Continuing Education Registrar can assist you with this information. To start this process, email registrar@online.berklee.edu. Documentation does take time to draft so please allow adequate time for processing.

Marines

Marine Corps Tuition Assistance (TA) offers financial assistance to service members who elect to pursue Off-Duty or Voluntary Education. Note that students must choose Berklee College of Music when completing their request for tuition assistance.

Once a Marine is enrolled with TA, s/he must submit a degree plan before exceeding 12 semester hours. To obtain this document, email the Assistant Continuing Education Registrar at registrar@online.berklee.edu. Documentation does take time to draft so please allow adequate time for processing.

Coast Guard

Coast Guard Tuition Assistance assists eligible personnel – active duty, reserve and civilian employees – in their professional development by providing funding for off-duty voluntary education courses to broaden their academic or Coast Guard technical background. For more information and to apply for tuition assistance please visit the United States Coast Guard website. Note that students must choose Berklee College of Music when completing their request for tuition assistance.
