Is it for Me?
Is online learning for me?
The following questions will help you determine if online learning is right for you:
- Are you a motivated student?
- Do you work well independently?
- Are you motivated to complete assignments and meet deadlines?
- During an average day, can you find one or two hours to engage in dialogue, discussion, reading, or research?
- Do you want to learn more, and would you enjoy collaborating with other classmates?
How much time will I need to devote to my courses each week?
On average, you can expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week on your coursework, depending on the subject area. While you’ll get to make your own schedule, you’ll want to log onto the course site often to review lessons and assignments, participate in discussions and chats, and upload homework.
Are classes taught at specific dates and times?
No. Berklee Online grants you the flexibility to study on your own schedule. You do not have to be at a specific location at a specific time to do your work. You can access lessons and complete assignments at any time of the day or night from anywhere in the world (with an Internet connection, of course). Though our programs are rigorous and require you to have a high level of self-discipline, you can incorporate your courses into your daily life without disrupting your professional and personal commitments.
How much support will I receive?
Our Academic Advisors and Frontline Admissions Representatives will be there for you throughout the duration of your studies. Additionally, our technical support staff can walk you through any issues that you might have with required course software or the learning management system (LMS). Our staff can even answer basic questions over social media. You’ll have direct access to your instructors via email and can interact with your classmates on specified course discussion boards. No matter where you are in your studies, we’re dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.
