Berklee Virtual Commencement Concert

Friday, May 8 at 7:30 PM ET

Watch the concert here.

Collaborating remotely, a number of your fellow classmates who had applied to participate in the concert were selected to assist with and participate in the musical tribute to this year’s honorary degree recipients: Mikhail Baryshnikov, André De Shields, Sheila E., John Legend, and Cassandra Wilson. The tribute will air on commencement eve, Friday, May 8, on the Berklee YouTube channel. If you miss the event, you can watch the recordings in this video playlist anytime after the concert ends.

Commencement Ceremony

Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 AM ET

Watch the ceremony here.

Berklee College of Music’s virtual ceremony for the conferral of degrees will take place on May 9 at 10:00 a.m. ET. Those graduates who had RSVP’d to participate in the ceremony will have their names read while displaying a slide with their name and major; the slide may also feature the graduate’s photograph, hometown, and someone who inspired them to pursue a career in the performing arts (if you submitted this information). If you miss the live event, you can watch the recording at the same livestream link anytime after the ceremony ends.

Fall Celebrations

In addition to our May celebration, we will host an in-person ceremony and reception for all Berklee Online students on campus in the fall semester once we are able to safely do so. We will provide more information on this once we are able to return to campus and set a date. We recognize that not everyone will be able to return for these in-person events, so they will be livestreamed as well.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to email us at

Congratulatory Messages

Faculty, staff, friends, and family are invited to post congratulatory messages to graduates. You can watch the messages start to roll in, and share that link with your friends and family so they can post their own messages.

Caps and Gowns

Caps and gowns are on their way to you now. They were mailed to the address you submitted on your graduation application, unless you shared a different address with us. The last shipment was mailed out on April 24, and we hope that delivery services throughout the world will deliver them to you in a timely fashion. In your package, you will find a letter about the significance of commencement “regalia” (caps and gowns) and inviting you to post photos of yourself on social media using the hashtags #berkleeanywhere and #berkleegrad2020.

As a reminder, students can expect to receive their diplomas by mail within 6-8 weeks of successfully completing their program requirements. More information can be found under the “What Happens After My Final Term” section at the bottom of the Berklee Online Undergraduate Graduation Planning page.
