You’ll gain hands-on experience with music licensing, clearance, budgeting, and contract negotiation, while learning to collaborate with directors, producers, and composers to bring projects to life. In addition, you’ll examine emerging technologies—including digital audio tools and AI-assisted workflows—and how they are shaping the future of music supervision.

You will apply these principles to a comprehensive capstone project, designing and executing a real-world music supervision strategy that demonstrates your creative vision and professional readiness. This project will serve as both a portfolio piece and a calling card as you advance your career.

By the end of the program, you will be able to:

  • Synthesize and apply music supervision practices, including creative music selection, spotting, and narrative analysis, to a variety of visual media projects
  • Analyze scripts and visual content to determine the emotional and dramatic role of music within a project
