Dan Elbert is a saxophonist, educator, writer, and arts professional based in Brooklyn. As a saxophonist, Dan has been fortunate to perform all over the world, sharing the stage with such renowned artists as Danilo Perez, Kenny Werner, Andy Akiho, Linda May Han Oh, Vicky Chow, Uriel Barthelemi, R&B singer Allen Stone, and singer-songwriter Amanda Palmer. Dan also has an extensive background in business (music and otherwise), most recently leading a boutique contemporary classical label and publishing outfit with multiple GRAMMY nominations. Separately, his work as a writer — focusing primarily on topics around innovation and technology — has been published by Rosetta Books, in popular business journals such as Deloitte Review, and cited by columnist Thomas Friedman in the New York Times. Earlier in his career, Dan was a strategy consultant at Deloitte, where he advised executives across industries on emerging issues in media, business, and technology. Dan holds a M.M. in Contemporary Performance from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston, a Diploma in Performance from Berklee College of Music, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
