Dr. Suzanne Hanser is founding chair emerita and a professor in the Music Therapy department at Berklee College of Music. She is president of the International Association for Music & Medicine, and past president of the World Federation of Music Therapy and the American Music Therapy Association. Her books include The New Music Therapist’s HandbookIntegrative Health through Music Therapy: Accompanying the Journey from Illness to WellnessManage Your Stress and Pain through Music, and Music for Wellness: Feel the Music, See the LightThe Boston Globe cited her as one of 11 “Bostonians Changing the World.” She received the Dean’s Award for Global Presence and Engagement and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Music Therapy Association. Dr. Hanser is also co-chair of The Future of Music and Arts in Medicine and Health, a joint world congress of the International Association for Music & Medicine and the International Society for Arts and Medicine. With Berklee Online, Dr. Hanser teaches Music Therapy Techniques for Wellness as well as the Music for Wellness course on the Coursera and edX platforms.
