Colin Sapp


Colin Sapp is an accomplished guitarist with over 150 album credits to his name.

Originally from Flint, Michigan, he has performed with Backstreet Boys, Ally Brooke

(Fifth Harmony), two-time American Music Award winning vocalist Billy Gilman,

GRAMMY Award winning jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, and James Wolpert (The Voice),

among many others.

Colin is an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he has

taught since 2001. He is renown for his teaching of contemporary improvisation, a wide

range of musical styles, and inspirational philosophy. He has given masterclasses at

Berklee, Boston University, SUNY Oneonta, Lincoln Park Center For The Arts, Boston

Public Schools, Pritzker College Prep, Xaverian Brothers High School, and Brandon

University in Manitoba, Canada. Sapp is a published author with articles on

performance, pedagogy, and peer mentoring. Sapp's YouTube channel Inside Out

Guitar contains concepts, drills, and advice that he has developed for guitarists at all
